And I too, am having the problems with dyes not stacking, and now that it was mentioned, the ones that didn't stack, i'm pretty sure were from other chapters of the game.

my shard-required fissure monk fow kept its color yet cant re-create it.

I ask of you anet/ncsoft/guildwars staff please do something about this... I really dont want to re-make my fow armor just for a much better looking color selection, and neither do the rest of us who have our veterancy armors.
I'm not noticing any color change on my pre-shards Monk FoW armor. I have been using a two-dye mix that gives a reddish coloring, and at least to my eye it's still the same shade. I haven't tried replicating it with the dye preview feature yet; I'll have to give that a shot and see if I get the same color.

The dye problem is getting worse not better. I now have 3 kinds of blue dye that won't stack with each other. I just got a blue dye in Elonia that won't stack with my original stack nor will it stack with another odd blue that won't stack with my original. However a green that dropped in the same instance stacked with my old stack just fine. This is starting to get funny.

My poor mesmer can never get the pretty colors that are currently on her armor ATM.

Can't mix new armor with old armor due to color incompatibility. T-T

Bring back different color base armors!
Bring back dye-remover! Move grey dye to dye trader!
Keep dye-previewer. ^^

So thats why dye wont stack, what a dumb idea all dye of the same colour should stack no matter where it was found.

Heck all they would need to do is this:
  • Make Basic Armor Color near white for pure dye colors.
  • Add dye remover back in to fade dye colors.
  • Add grey dye to Merchant to actually dye things grey / dull another dye color.
  • Keep Dye-Previwer / mixer screen
  • Make ALL same color dyes stack!

I totally agree. I don't see why they had to get rid of Dye Remover, bring it back! Gray dye is cool so go ahead and keep it as a new dye....make armor dye more reasonably by fixing the base colors, and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, MAKE DYES STACK!!

I'm actually avoiding farming anything in the other continents until they fix the dye stacking. I have enough storage space issues as it is.

White Dyes LOL [TEP] is green.
I dont see the point in everyone going mad over white dyes, all they do is raise the price and start a trend, and once everyone is wearing white and realises that they dont stand out so much, they change colour.
In which the price of white dyes has declined and everyone has moved onto a new mix or somthin.
Good luck to yer, dressed in white, The Engineered Plague remains green, although i am keen to find out what shades of green you can now get with a white dye hehe.

I would think white dye used in a mix would make a brighter variant of that color. Green+White.....
I have seen the white on armors and only one character I think will ever get it. My warrior with 15k Luxon. Makes the viening stand out more.

I have a single green dye that won't stack with the pile of green dyes I got. I forgot where it dropped, but the only difference I found is that this particular green dye is worth 25g, while the others are worth only 1g. Must be ultra pure green dye to be worth 25x more than typical.

The other gripe I have is the fact that the dye mix I've been using for my ranger no longer works. I figured it was due to requiring a white dye so when one finally dropped for me, I tested it out. Still not quite right. I tried sooooo many combinations but I have a feeling I need a 5th dye slot to get my original colour. Maybe one day I'll gather up all my dyes and try a crapload of combinations to try to get it right, but really it sucks that my old dye mix doesn't look the same anymore...

Ever notice knight armor from Droks shows as gold for a split second when you put it on the turns grey or whatever color you attempted to dye it?

The dye that's 25 gold is the one gotten from the 'To Dye For' quest, which will not stack with the other dyes.
